Client Testimonials

“Grace was wonderful. I don’t think I would have been able to have a natural birth without her assistance. She helped me cope with the discomfort of childbirth emotionally and physically and was a cheerleader through it all. My last birth was a c-section, and for this birth a vbac was very important to me and Grace was able to help me achieve a wonderful outcome - a vbac and the healthy delivery of a baby boy.” — Jessica

“My partner, Felix, and I will forever be grateful to Grace for getting us through a stressful pregnancy and an emergency C-section. Grace greatly reduced our anxiety when we were overwhelmed with information and decisions throughout pregnancy. She helped my partner and I communicate better with each other every step of the way even when our birth preferences went out the window. She is knowledgeable, calm, and judgement-free and provided exactly the support we needed when we needed it most. This included connecting us to helpful resources when we discovered our baby was breeched, helping us in those critical hours after birth as we established breastfeeding, bringing us delicious and nutritious food in the hospital, and guiding us in our first few days as parents to our beautiful baby girl. Her support was invaluable.” — Emily

“When we were planning for our child's birth, we knew that working closely with a doula would give us the confidence and sense of security we needed––especially because of a history of traumatic birth in my family. Grace gave us that and so much more. She took time to get to know us and had a strong understanding of who we are and what we desired. During labor, Grace's guidance, both through the phone and in person, helped us both feel grounded in our spirits and decision-making. I was unexpectedly induced and had a long labor, which I could not imagine getting through without her close support. We needed someone to tell us (me and my husband both!) that I was going to get through it, especially given that things did not go as planned! Her coaching helped me push through (in the end, literally!) the other side without losing confidence. If not for Grace's presence, I feel certain that things may have gone very differently. Her support continued beyond the labor itself, into our fourth trimester period––this was so important for us, as we were mostly getting through it alone. We are so grateful for her warm, encouraging and uplifting support, her calm presence and her knowledge––"wise arriving" is absolutely the right phrase to describe what we experienced. Thank you Grace, from all three of us!”— Maryam & David

“From our first conversation with Grace and Leah, they made us feel confident about and cared for in our birth experience. Their passion and experience shone through at every stage. We were so grateful that we had them to help us understand labor as we were going through it. Even with all our preparation, it was hard to remember some things once it was happening. At home, Grace and Leah listened to us and advised us. At the hospital, real progress during pushing only happened after I took Grace’s advice on positioning. After our sweet baby was born, Grace helped us to understand what was going on in the delivery room and what our options were. Even after she left, we felt continuously supported. Even though our hospital provided lactation consultants, it was Grace’s expertise at the hospital that we credit with helping us get breastfeeding off to a great start. When we got home, we were grateful to have Grace and Leah just a phone call or text away for any questions or concerns that came up. Grace and Leah were also key in pushing us to make sure we had help after our birth. Their guidance on how to speak up to each other and our support network made all the difference. The support we had in the weeks following the birth made what could have been a completely exhausting and overwhelming experience instead a joyful time. We are incredibly fortunate to have had them with us on this journey, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.”— Julianna

“Working with Grace and Leah was one of the best decisions my partner and I made in our journey to becoming parents, and with their help we were able to enjoy the birth experience we wanted. There are so many things you can’t predict when having a baby, so much you can’t plan for — but the most important thing for us in the process was to have the right emotional, physical, and educational support to guide us no matter what — and Grace and Leah provided just that and more. They are a true dynamic duo! They were both so generous with their time from the minute we brought them on board, and answered every question we had, quickly and thoughtfully. We knew instantly from our first virtual meeting with them that they were the right team for us, based on their calm, kind, positive energy and expert approach. Having Grace in the room with us while our daughter was being born gave us a special confidence to trust the process and allowed both of us to focus on what was most important and not worry about other details, knowing that she was there to speak up for us and flag anything that wasn’t in our birth plan. And their help didn’t stop there — Grace and Leah feel like family now that our little one is here and they continue to be an amazing resource postpartum. We loved working with them and would recommend them to anyone who’s expecting!” — Anna

“My experience with Grace was the best. I couldn’t have a better person with me during my pregnancy and my Labor Day. She made me feel comfortable from the first time we met . Grace was able to inform me on many new things that I was not aware of while pregnant and she answered all my questions . During my birth I remember telling grace I’m so happy she was by my side because she guided me into peace and relaxation. Grace was also there for me after birth and not only checking on me and my partner but also the baby. I would always be grateful and appreciative for her and would recommend her and will definitely love to have her as my doula for my second child.” — Naroly

“It was anxiety-relieving to know ahead of time and during that Grace would be there throughout. Grace has a friendly, calm, and patient aura which helped my husband and me remain in a good headspace during labor. She is intelligent and capable while also having a high EQ. This translated into her interfacing with hospital staff with perfect balance of deference and pushiness, leading to optimum care for us." — J. Brennan
